Matthew 14:29-30 (American Standard Version):
And (Jesus) said, come. And Peter went down from the
boat, an walked upon the waters to come to Jesus. But when he saw the
wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord,
save me.
Ah, summer. As I write this, I am preparing for time at
the Jersey Shore, enjoying the cool breezes and the glorious waves. But
we all know that waves can damage as well as refresh.
Do you want to consider how the waves in your life can
refresh?
Do you want to be soothed by life, rather than drenched?
Do you want to walk on water??
Then, get out of the boat!
This summer, during Vacation Bible School, from July
30th until August 3rd, I will be running a program each evening for
adults called If you Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out
of the Boat. While I don't promise to teach you how to work
miracles, I do intend for this program to help us all to think about how
to allow God to stretch us, to teach us to cope with life's challenges,
and to find God's revitalization on a regular basis.
Cone one night, or every nigh. Come for dinner, hear
the kids sing, and join me iin the pastor's office for a week of cool
refreshment.
Trying to Stay Out of The Boat,
Pastor Steph

Maine State Pepsi-Cola Youth Bowling Championship held Sunday, April 23,
in Waterville, ME. Her scratch scores put her in first place, but since
it was a handicapped tournament, tow other bowlers (with much higher
handicaps) passed Rahecl in the overal standings. Great bowling Rachel!
Congratulations from everyone at FBC!!
FBC
Softball team making its move
The
FBC Softball team “aka, Orange Crush” started out slowly, losing 3 of
their first 4 games, but now they’re starting to make a move as
they’ve won 3 in a row as of June 23. The Orange has scored an
avalanche of runs, 51 in the last 13 innings beginning with a 6th
inning comeback from a 6-0 deficit to defeat Apostolic Lighthouse 8-7.
They have forced the mercy rule in their last 2 games with 21-9 and 22-10
wins over Latter Day Saints and United Fellowship of Orono respectively.
Follow
the team for the rest of the season at the Union St. Complex. Just
look for the bright orange shirts!!
